Large-scale embankment construction sites nationwide

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced the results of a survey that 12,428 (24.2%) of the large-scale embankment sites (51,306 in total) nationwide are located in the residential guidance area. By prefecture, Osaka (1638), Fukuoka (1390), and Aichi (1287) are the most common. MLIT is urging local governments to prioritize residential areas and steadily promote pre-disaster prevention measures for the site.
